About
Özlem Yenigül, born in Istanbul in 1991, graduated from the Painting Department of Gazi University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2016. Continuing her art education at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Institute of Graduate Education, Department of Painting, she received her master’s degree in 2020. Drawing attention with her use of hand-tufting and punch techniques, Yenigül explores the concept of belonging in her works through space, personal history, and the individual’s relationship with objects in their immediate surroundings. With her large-scale wall installations, the artist questions concepts based on belonging while also directing the viewer to reflect on the connection established with space. Özlem Yenigül continues her artistic practice in Ankara.
